Blogs - The Future is Here
Design:
Future websites will look like new edition of a popular magazine on the news stand. The front cover with an attractive image, capturing the attention of a passerby in one glance. Coming out with such stunningly attractive looks for every new edition. Websites would provide a visitor the opportunity to choose from a catalog of templates to view – from being visually appealing to a pure functional format template.
Rich & frequently updated Content:
Future websites would look like journals with fresh indepth material. This would mean content writers would come of age and their impact would be greater than the website development team. Well timed, frequent and planned content refresh would be the norm -ensuring a visitor is hooked to the website and visits the website at frequent intervals in his search for new material or content.
This trend is similar to the present trend seen among popular blog sites which enjoy a devoted readership for their content. Corporate websites fail to garner the loyalty of such regular visitors as it is common knowledge that both the content and the look and feel of the website change only on rare occasions.
With the increase in the amount of fresh content being provided on websites – navigation and discovering the right information might become cumbersome and hence enabling guided navigation to visitors would become a priority. In all possibility sitemaps will become a more visible aspect of a website to be used by humans than just search engines.
Dynamic:
Websites will be customized on the fly depending on the interest of the visitor. As and when the visitor demonstrates higher interest, he will have access to more content and indepth material which would interest him. This will be the most exciting trend to watch out for as user personification will happen with content changing depending on the personality of the user. For example whitepapers and case studies presented to different users on home page will be different and will depend on the personality. The contact numbers provided for different visitors might also be different. Unlike, in present times where the user chooses what he wants, future will see all the information coming to him as per his preferences and needs.
Behavioral analysis of website visitors has become a reality today, In future, it is this technology which will set the tone for such a customized approach by websites – giving every visitor only what he wants and needs.
The next generation websites will move away from being mere stoic platforms to analytical hubs which will decipher the visitor’s intent as he browses the website and provides him with content/page/information recommendations based on his intent – all in real time and as he browses the site.
Social Hub
With social media becoming such an integral part of all aspects of Marketing, Branding and Lead Generation – it is bound to play a significant role in the future too. Today most websites display links to their profiles on different Social Network sites, in the future in all probability, websites with their rich content and dynamic approach will transform into social platforms for their readers, followers, visitors and customers to collaborate and exchange views.
Websites are already adding their Twitter updates to their websites – giving their visitors a live view of the conversations happening on their social networks, future websites will become the focal point of such conversations.
A more informed and evolved customer is slowly changing the way companies market their products – customization and customer centric approach is the future trend. How soon you get across to a customer with the information he is seeking is going to be key to the success of any company and its website.
Green Living - Green Your Household Products
There are many good reasons for greening your household products: reducing risk of poisoning children; eliminating the bad fumes of conventional cleaning products; and getting rid of the harmful effects on the environment that bleach-cleaned toilets will wreak.
The best part is: It's pretty easy to do. Here are a few steps you can take toward greening your household products
*Vinegar, baking soda and hot water are your friends. Baking soda cleans, deodorizes, softens water and scours (say goodbye to Comet!). Vinegar cuts grease and removes mildew, odors, some stains and wax buildup. Use corn starch to clean windows, polish furniture and shampoo carpets and rugs.
*Reuse the containers. My first step was to buy a Shaklee Get Clean™ Starter Kit. By committing to reuse the containers in combination with using multi-purpose cleaners, you can reduce the packaging waste by 108 pounds and eliminate 248 pounds of greenhouse gas initially.
And instead of tossing my spray bottles and dish soap containers, I rinse them and reuse them, thus eliminating both landfill waste and greenhouse gases created when making the containers. I haven’t had to replace anything yet!
*Use washable cleaning rags, dish sponges and napkins. Throwing away paper products like napkins and paper towels is such a waste — filling up landfills and taking trees. We bought cheap and attractive cloth versions that can be tossed in the laundry with our regular loads of clothes.
*Buy recycled or reusable products. Whether its toilet paper or wood toys — first make sure you need it, and then consider its impact (past, present and future) on the environment. I used the Better World Shopping Guide to start becoming a conscious consumer and track my impacts.
So while I'm still helping marine ecosystems to stay healthy and resilient during the day…now I'm doing equally important environmental work at home.

How to Use the brain to its maximum potential.
For the most part, a genius is born into a life of high brain activity and functionality. Many definitions of the word “genius” use the word “natural” to describe the state, which implies that one can not force themselves into becoming a genius. However, you can not be certain that you are using your brain to its fullest potential. In fact, there is a large chance that you use only a fraction of your brain's potential, which means that a large amount of your brain's capacity remains untapped. Do not fear the untapped portion of your brain. Embrace it with these five simple steps.
Instructions
- Perform a detailed self-analysis. So much talk floats around about which side of the brain people use most often. Figure out if you are a right-brain thinker or a left-brain thinker. Maybe your passion lay in math and science. Peruse your transcripts from high school and college. Maybe you received high marks in English and historical-related courses. Find out which part of the brain you use to its maximum potential and then expand on that.
- Read, reread, and read some more. Those who use their brains most productively often use the written words of others as a starting point. An active brain needs inspiration. Reading also facilitates creativity, and many geniuses--past and present alike--were also considered to be at the upper-echelon of creativity. Whether it is math and science or English and philosophy, creativity and brain activity go hand-in-hand.
- Use your time wisely. Whether you were born a genius or are trying to make better use of your current brain activity, wasting time is a worthless notion. Think about how many hours of television you watch throughout the course of an average week. Think about how many hours you spend on the Internet. For the most part, your brain is on “sleep mode” when you participate in those activities. Find a creativity activity to engage in, such as writing or studying your favorite subject.
- Transform your diet and your lifestyle. Some experts suggest that upping your intake of fish can significantly impact your mental capacity. However, taking a more broad and sweeping approach to your nutritional intake might be a better idea. Assess your current diet. Maybe much of your fluid intake is comprised of coffee and cola. Substitute unnatural fluids with water. Increasing your water intake will flush some of the unnatural toxins from your body and keep your body out of “survival mode,” during which your body actually bloats due to a lack of natural water.
- Expand your horizons. Keep your head in the books, but not only in the books you know best. If your strongest area of knowledge is English literature, head to the library and pick up some books about various sciences. Remember, most geniuses have been extraordinarily well-rounded and versed in multiple disciplines of study.
